If you use Claude.ai a lot, your chat list quickly becomes an endless scroll. Here are five practical ways to organize your Claude chats and keep your work under control.
1. Rename your chats so you can actually find them
Claude gives each conversation an automatic title based on your first message. These titles are often vague. Rename the ones that matter to something you would actually search for later, like "Q3 marketing plan" or "Python bug, auth flow". Since Claude search matches titles, clear names make a huge difference.
2. Group related work with Projects
Claude Projects let you keep related chats and reference material together in one space. If you are working on something ongoing, like a specific client, a course, or a codebase, put those conversations in a Project. It is the closest native way to group chats, though it is built more for big workstreams than for light, everyday sorting.
3. Bookmark important conversations in your browser

4. Export the conversations you cannot afford to lose
